Work at Slate hero

We’re not trying to make this about us.

BECAUSE SLATE IS ALL ABOUT YOU.

Get exactly the vehicle you want.

We’ve got one job: building a vehicle you’ll fall in love with.

When the auto industry keeps jacking up their prices, we’re keeping the price of the blank Slate low. Where they make you pay for trim packages and features you’ll never use, we let you hand-pick the ones you want. And unlike every other vehicle, a Slate is never “finished.” You can add new accessories, swap colors, reconfigure body types, and more, whenever you want. As many times as you want.

Other automakers give you a car and tell you to fall in love with it. We built you a Slate: you make it perfect.

Why radical simplicity.

A Slate is a radically simple vehicle, for lots of reasons.

We set out to make the most affordable new vehicle possible. We miss the days when a truck was just a truck. We like looking at a road, not a screen. We don’t like paying for stuff we don’t need. We like picking out the stuff we do need. We know not everyone likes what we like. We want our cars to work with our phones, not the other way around. We engineered it to last a long time. We made more room for people and cargo, precious and otherwise. We decided it should cater to your taste, not ours.

So if you need a great, no hassle, daily driver that you can dial in to your taste and budget, a Slate is worth a look. That said, even with all the ways you can personalize it, a Slate is not for everyone. If you need to win drag races or towing contests or want a self-driving spaceship, a Slate is not for you. But even then, it does make a great second car. Just saying.

Made in the USA.

We believe an American vehicle should be engineered and manufactured in America. With Slate, we’re proud to bring manufacturing jobs back to the Midwest.

But our footprint is much larger than that. We’re designed in California, engineered in Michigan, and assembled in the Midwest. And our team is spread across the entire country, from Washington state to Florida, bringing local insights and hometown pride to everything we do.

BUT WAIT. HOW MANY DACHSHUNDS CAN I FIT IN THE BED OF A SLATE?

Fantastic question. And one we cover — along with most other questions, practical and not — in our FAQ section.
